Reklamblad från AGA-Baltic – 1945
(Originalmaterialet förvaras på KB)
Some of the outstanding characteristics of the
Aga-Baltic sound recording equipments are robust and reliable
construction, combined with exceptionally good quality, obtained by
means of such new design details as the volume compressor amplifier and
the logarithmic peak volume indicator. These latter devices not only
assist the sound engineer in obtaining good quality but also prevent
unnecessary repetitions and retakes, thereby saving valuable time.
The sound recording system is of the variable area type with
centershutter. Noise reduction is accomplished by blocking out a
portion on the center of each track.
The equipments are designed for use in studios as well as on location.
Thus separate power supply units for connection to the a.c. main as
well as to storage batteries are supplied. Furthermore the equipments
can be delivered with or without ground noise reduction assembly and
the larger type of equipment can also be supplied for push pull
recording with double width sound track.
Among the new constructions, especially designed to help the sound engineer in his work, one notices:
The Volume Compressor,
that changes the amplification according to the sound volume, thus
giving more even modulation. This materially decreases the hazards
introduced by erroneous microphone positioning or by movements of the
actors.
A special delay circuit eliminates any
tendency toward sound breathing, that otherwise would occur in a
rapidly operating compression amplifier.
The Logarithmic Peak Volume Indicator,
which so rapidly and faithfully follows the variations in the sound
volume that the sound engineer has perfect control of the modulation
within a range of 40 dB. The instrument moves from zero to full
modulation in 0,02 seconds without any noticeable overswing and the
delayed return makes the reading easy and non-tiresome for the eye.
Many
of the film recorder operations take place automatically. For instance
at the start of the sound camera the necessary connection of the
recording galvanometer and the switchover of the exciter lamp and the
monitor amplifier is done automatically. One single man is sufficient
for the recording, as the film recorder can be handled from the control
console by remote control.
The size of the
galvanometer mirror is 1,5X2,5 mm resulting in an optical system with a
speed sufficient for the use of positive film for sound recording
without overloading the exciter lamp.
An exposure indicator for controlling the exposure and the exciter lamp
adjustment is mounted on the film recorder. The visual light beam
monitor is provided with a mechanical time base permitting a thorough
control of the track. In case of the larger equipment the monitor
loudspeaker is led from photocells directly excited by the modulated
light beam.
A rotary stabilizer in conjunction with the Aga-Baltic double roller system is used to equalize the film motion.
A very easily operated communication system — including loud speaker — is built into the console.
The Aga-Baltic's manufacturing program for recording equipment comprises two main lines:

Under omkopplarna
I
första läget är filtret helt urkopplat, i andra läget avskäres endast
höga frekvenser och i tredje läget skäres både låga och höga
frekvenser.
Lampa
